CALL FOR BUSINESS PROPOSALS
With the appropriate support and funding, self-employment is central for improving the labour market prospects and poverty reduction within the city of London, Ontario. Income Generating Activities, micro financing and social enterprise development are obvious opportunities that could lower unemployment and poverty among the most vulnerable community members.
African Canadian Federation of London and Area (ACFOLA) has received a grant from London Community Foundation and Lutheran Social Services to support small business start-ups. Participants in the program are expected to pool their human and financial resources towards the grant.
Individuals passionate about starting small businesses and willing to collaborate with at least three other community members are encouraged to apply for support ranging between $3,000 and $15,000. We have committed to supporting between 45 and 75 families within London and area.
